The potential hidden in one of the most popular house shapes of the communistera is being discovered today. With each project and each successive concept, the "cube" is changing from a concrete ugly duckling into a swan of architecture. Although this already classic form also has its admirers, who do not want to transform its natural form at all.
Michal Koziej of koziej architekci in his project decided to refer to the convention of the aforementioned cube, slightly transforming it. The concept calls for a two-story building with flat roofs. The investors were keen to maintain privacy. By extending the building over almost the entire width of the front of the property, it became a kind of barrier. A wall that separates the course of the daily activities of the residents of the house from prying eyes from outside. The part of the facade on the street side is almost fully enclosed - there you will find only the entrance to the house and the roll-up gate to the garage. The windows are obscured by vertical wooden blinds. As a result, investors will experience privacy both at home and in the garden.
From today's perspective, the drawback of these square houses was the small windows. The architect set out to open up the villa's space with large glazing on one side. On the inside of the house, the windows reach from the ceiling to the floor, opening it up to the surrounding greenery.

Functional interior
The most important thing for the designer was to separate functional zones. On the first floor is the living space with a living room placed on an elevated position facing the garden. There are also utility rooms, a garage and a guest room on the front side. On the first floor, bedrooms have been located with a view extending to the garden. The architect decided to overhang the first floor, thanks to which the terrace gained a kind of canopy.
The investors wanted a modern, bright house connected to the garden, with a highly aesthetic body. The villa resembles originally arranged blocks, where white is combined with natural wood color and graphite plaster and concrete.
