Emblem,
designed by Hamonic + Masson & Associés
French studio Hamonic+Masson & Associés designed the building in Lille, located at the intersection of major transportation routes - road and rail - and in close proximity to Matisse Park. The building's massing is based on curved lines that create a coherent connection with the park's natural landscape, and its location allowed it to become known as a modern gateway to the city.

thoughtful layout of space
and form in harmony with the surroundings
The building, visible from the perspective of Boulevard Pasteur, is distinguished by its monumental scale and dynamic form. The building offers 17,000 sqm of usable space, of which 9,000 sqm is dedicated to office space and 8,000 sqm to residential functions.

The first two floors form the base of the building, surrounding an interior patio. The base of the building was planned as a two-story base surrounding an interior patio. At its southern end rises an eight-story office section.

The residential tower, located in the northern part of the structure, occupies floors three through 17, with a 50-meter height limit. The complex is complemented by a three-level underground parking garage. The clear division of functions and appropriate scale make the building fit harmoniously into its surroundings.

horizontal division,
materials and color scheme of the project
The exterior walls of both blocks are characterized by clear horizontal divisions. The horizontality of the glass façade in the office section is defined by the delicate lines of white slats. These elements seamlessly interact with the gentle curves of the block, while creating reflections that reflect the sky. In the residential part of the building, the attention is drawn to the balconies that wrap around the facades, made of perforated metal sheets.

At one corner, the balconies alternate in front of the façade's basic line, creating a checkerboard-like arrangement. The earthy color palette used in the finishes draws inspiration from the park's natural surroundings, making subtle references to the local context and Lille's architectural tradition. The play of materials also carries over to the interior of the office building. Wood and concrete complement each other to create an aesthetically pleasing space.

organic body of the building
The skyscrapers' rounded corners and undulating facade give the massing an organic shape. The glazed floors in the office area fit harmoniously into the landscape, while the building's rounded forms interact with the traffic patterns of pedestrians, cyclists, cars, buses, streetcars and trains, promoting spatial integration.
