Integration of Kaspersky Automotive Adaptive Platform with OTAmatic®.
Kaspersky has integrated its Automotive Adaptive Platform toolkit, designed for smart cars, into the OTAmatic® platform for managing remote (OTA) software updates and delivery for vehicles.
Over the Air (OTA) technology enables the centralized organization and automation of software updates and settings for multiple electronic control units (ECUs) of vehicles connected to the Internet. The growth in the number of such vehicles is increasing the demand for remote update capabilities , with a projected growth of 19% in this market. In addition, asOTA technology becomes essential for developers of software used in smart vehicles, safety requirements are also increasing. In March 2021. The European Economic Commission published UN Security Regulation R156 containing a clause on software updates and software update management systems for vehicles, which will take effect for all new cars in 2024.
The integration of the Kaspersky Automotive Adaptive Platform with Airbiquity OTAmatic meets the needs for scheduling and executing OTA updates and provides assurance that the technologies used are secure. Software update management is available for a variety of smart car electronic control units, such as connectivity, advanced driver assistance systems, autopilot systems and digital control panels.
Kaspersky Automotive Adaptive Platform enhances the security of remote software transfer technology with Kaspersky's multi-level approach to security and an underlying, inherently secure proprietary operating system. KasperskyOS assumes a clear separation between operating system components and communication controls, so that no failures or intentional interference will affect application performance.
OTAmatic securely arranges OTA updates for all hardware and software platforms. Partnering with Kaspersky, identified with cybersecurity solutions, was a natural choice, as both companies' products are focused on security
- said Keefe Leung, deputy director of product management, Airbiquity.
It is important for automakers and component suppliers to comply with the new requirements and offer their customers state-of-the-art solutions in terms of functionality and , equally important for the automotive industry , security. This is also a priority for Kaspersky, so we are committed to finding the best solutions to meet these needs. After analyzing many possibilities, we decided that the most suitable integration partner would be Airbiquity
- commented Jewnienija Ponomarjeva, senior business development manager at Kaspersky's KasperskyOS division.
