Does education require lots of textbooks, colorful teaching aids and gadgets? Not always, and especially not now. Check out the suggestions for tasks inspired by the shape of the city we live in. You need paper, pencil, scissors and get to work!
Design Studio Local is the author of a set of spatial education tasks. It proposes simple materials, economical means and easy instructions. Exercises in the spirit of locality are those that draw on the resources we have around us and that teach us to trust our own ideas. What can we come up with with paper, scissors and a pencil - anything!
Art games and challenges inspired by the city
The Local design studio has prepared material that develops curiosity about the world and creativity. It does not require complicated means and can be done at home. The tasks have been prepared in such a way that they can be adapted to any city or town. See how it works using the example of Lublin (downloadable material attached).
The shape of your city
Every week the authors will publish a set for the next city on their site, they can also prepare material especially for you - just send an email with your request to: marta@lokalny.eu
In the prepared kit you will receive:
- A poster with the shape of your city,
- A map of your city from the resources of openstreetmap.org.
- Instructions for four tasks.
You can do the tasks at leisure with your family or offer them as part of a school activity. You can print out the materials, but if you do not have such an opportunity, you can also redraw them and read the instructions on the computer.
We encourage you to show the results of your work on social media, using the tag #shapesofourcity. Let's show each other the stories of our cities!
