Poznan-based Atelier Starzak Strebicki, in cooperation with Carton123 architecten and Natural Born Architects, have jointly created TV Team Begijnenborre. In such a team they worked on the design of a school and day care center in Dilbeek, Belgium, which is currently under construction. What are the stages of creating such a building? Atelier Starzak Strebicki is unlocking the secret!
The basic idea behind the design of the elementary school and day care center for children and young people created by the team that included {tag:Studio} was to integrate the new architecture into the overall landscape of the Dilbeek municipality. The new building was placed in an open area with access to many walking paths and greenery, amidst trees planted in a square plan. In this way, not only was the existing landscape preserved, but nature was used as a natural and functional separation between the elementary school wing and the wing with the community center spaces, which are connected by an external roof.

The interiors use an open plan, allowing the space to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of the students and the dynamic life of the school. The face of the building changes with the seasons, and trees regulate the degree of sunlight and shade in the various spaces.
