We would like to invite you to the 10th anniversary edition of PLGBC Green Building Symposium, which will be held on October 8 this year, this time in an online format. The program of the event, organized by the Polish Green Building Association PLGBC, includes thematic sessions, lectures, case studies, panel discussions and talks.
PLGBC Green Building Symposium is an international conference dedicated to the green building industry in Poland. This year, due to the pandemic, the conference is being held online via streaming. The organizer is the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC), which for 12 years has been on a mission to radically improve the design, construction and use of buildings in Poland so that sustainable construction becomes the norm.

The theme of this year's symposium is Climate emergency. In the words of the organizers:
We are experiencing climate change. That is why it is so important today to take concerted action for sustainable design and retrofitting of existing buildings. Recognizing the potential of sustainable building, the industry continues to take pro-environmental measures, and the PLGBC Green Building Symposium serves as a driver of innovation. It is a key venue for experience and information sharing, learning, interaction and technology that will lead to greater efficiency, a safer environment, a better quality of life and a future. Engaging the green building community, including architecture and design, is an opportunity to create a new standard of living for all of us.
4 thematic sessions
The event was divided into four strategic thematic sessions, corresponding to selected sustainability goals:
- Climate Action. Climate Action - Climate Adaptation, Building Life, Green Building Leader Insights,
- Health & Wellbeing. Health & Wellbeing - the impact of buildings on health and wellbeing,
- Resources & Circularity. Resources & Circularity - a better life and future,
- Net-Zero Future. Embodied carbon in buildings.
As keynote speakers will be:
- Alexandra Jaeschke - architect, lecturer at Univ. of Texas,
- Stephen Richardson - director of Europe Regional Network, World Green Building Council,
- Tomasz Pągowski - designer, TV host, creative director of IMATHOME,
- Michal Kacprzyk - student at Poznan University of Technology as Young Eco Trendsetter.
The event also included additional activities, including: a partner zone, an international exhibition of the Ecological Photographer of the Year, the film "You Can Panic" by J. Jonathan L. Ramsey, the announcement of the verdict of the jury of the PLGBC Green Building Awards 2020 competition. The competition to recognize the best green buildings, interiors, products and environmental initiatives in Poland. Unique, original statuettes for the winners will be prepared by Horizone Studio.
