Summer kitchens allow us to spend more time outdoors and fully enjoy the short season. It's no wonder that they continue to gain in popularity. How to decorate a garden kitchen? We have 5 tips for you!

Think about the location

Determine how much space you can allocate for a garden kitchen. Be sure to consider all the zones you want to have in your kitchenette. Then choose a location with easy access to the house and stable ground. For the floor, choose a durable and easy-to-clean material, such as pavers, ceramic tiles or composite boards.

Plan the equipment

Consider what household appliances you will need most. Do you want to focus on grilling? Maybe the most important thing for you is quick access to cool drinks? These aspects determine your choice of equipment. A freestanding outdoor grill should combine performance with ease of use. You can also add a side burner for preparing appetizers or warm sauces. A small garden refrigerator can take the form of a practical cooling drawer.

Take care of the basics

Regardless of your individual needs, a functional countertop will be necessary. Choose a sturdy and durable material that will give you a comfortable place to prepare meals. For example, stone will work great. If you have a water connection, install a sink that will make it easier to wash fresh fruits and vegetables as well as clean up dishes.

A comfortable place to sit

Choose furniture made of durable and easy-to-clean materials, such as aluminum, stainless steel or teak wood. Adjust the size of the table to the number of people who will usually use the garden kitchen. Round models are good for smaller groups, while rectangular ones can accommodate a larger number of guests. Invest in comfortable couches and garden chairs with cushions. Rattan or technorattan furniture will work best. If you have enough space, loungers and hammocks will be a great addition to the lounge area.

Additional amenities

Consider a garden kitchen canopy to protect your equipment and furniture from rain and sun. Also install adequate lighting for cooking after dark. LED lights, solar lanterns or garland will add charm to the space. If you plan to use your outdoor kitchen in colder weather as well, consider installing a garden heater or fire pit.
