Kraków residents can now apply for subsidies under three new city programs: thermal modernization of single-family buildings, development of renewable energy sources and elimination of solid fuel heating systems.
Thermal modernization in Krakow
Krakow has adopted changes within the program for thermal modernization of single-family buildings. These include: increasing the circle of beneficiaries to include individuals whose income exceeds 250 percent of the income criterion (until now, the program could only be used by individuals whose household income was up to 250 percent of the income criterion - up to PLN 1320 net per month in a multi-person household and up to PLN 1752.50 net per month in a single-person household). The amount of subsidy for beneficiaries whose income exceeds 250 percent of the income criterion will be up to 50 percent of eligible costs and no more than PLN 25 thousand. The amount of subsidy for beneficiaries whose income is up to 250 percent of the income criterion remains unchanged and will be up to 100 percent of eligible costs and no more than PLN 50 thousand. The maximum unit eligible cost for replacing windows, exterior doors and garage doors has also been increased from PLN 400 per square meter to PLN 700 per square meter.
development of renewable energy sources
The Renewable Energy Sources Development Program provides for subsidies for the installation of renewable energy sources (heat pumps, solar collectors and photovoltaic panels). The amount of the subsidy can be up to 60 percent of eligible costs, but no more than PLN 18 thousand for the purchase and installation of an air source heat pump, PLN 33 thousand for the purchase and installation of a ground source heat pump, PLN 7.5 thousand for the purchase and installation of a solar collector system and PLN 15 thousand for the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic system. Priority in the consideration of applications for the purchase and installation of heat pumps and solar collectors will be given to applicants who, during the duration of the Emission Reduction Program, submitted an application for a targeted grant for the implementation of an environmental investment task involving the installation of a renewable energy source, but due to the use of the limit of funds allocated for this purpose, their application was not considered.
liquidation of heating installations
Under the program for liquidation of solid fuel heating installations, applications for subsidies for liquidation of stoves and furn aces will be submitted by residents who applied for subsidies under the Low Emission Reduction Program, but for formal reasons (e.g., protracted inheritance proceedings) could not obtain subsidies for changing their heating system to an environmentally friendly one. The subsidy will be awarded in the amount of up to 60 percent of the eligible costs incurred for the task.
