From July 22 to August 1, the eighth edition of the international Mood for Wood workshop will be held in Poznań, bringing together design students from Poland, Germany and Latvia who are interested in actually carrying out their own projects. The workshop is organized by the Common Point Association and the Poznan branch of the Association of Polish Architects.
During the workshop, students, under the guidance of renowned architects and designers from around the world and experienced carpenters, will design and independently make urban furniture in selected locations. [...] When dealing with a given space, students collaborate with the local community and in order to build the furniture, they must obtain its approval. The next step is to properly plan the construction and cost estimates, which lead to their own implementation of wooden furniture. The goal of the workshop is to confront the experiences and ideas of students and tutors with the needs of future users. The success of the designed installations is to meet their expectations, to make the furniture made in the workshop become a stimulus for the development of activities and activities of local communities , the event organizers write.

This year's edition, under the motto Into the Wild, will focus on the wild nature of Poznan's oak ponds. Students will be tasked with designing urban furniture that will bridge the gap between the wild world of nature and urban culture. The projects created under the guidance of tutors, the organizers say, will accompany the monuments of nature and surround the care and protection of the homes of plants and animals that inhabit the area, as well as serve recreation and environmental education.
