Minimalism on 42 m² in Żoliborz of the Studio project. O.

23 of July '20

The interior in Warsaw's Zoliborz district was designed with attention to the smallest detail. Unnecessary accessories and furnishings have been kept to a minimum here. The only decorations here are vases, a few graphics and flowers, and carefully selected furniture. They are what make the space stylish and can have a soothing effect on the residents. The architects created this design for a lover of French interiors.

Minimalism was until recently associated by many with empty, austere spaces, giving up one's needs and making sacrifices. Today it is gaining a slightly different face and is becoming increasingly popular. However, the practice of this philosophy is based not on sacrifices, but on conscious, thoughtful choices. Minimalists consider it a way to find space and time in life for what is most valuable, while eliminating what is undesirable. This lifestyle has become synonymous with luxury and a tempting alternative for anyone tired of excess stimuli and compulsive shopping. The reflection of this philosophy can also be found in interior design. A perfect example is a studio apartment in Warsaw's Żoliborz district designed by Studio. O.

praise of asceticism

Designing an apartment for an artist may seem like quite a challenge, but Aga Kobus and Grzegorz Goworek accepted it without hesitation. Especially since the client wanted to live according to the idea of less is more, which is also close to architects. The space was to combine French classics and modernity, to be a place to live and create.

In this project, function took a back seat. The architects could afford a bit of extravagance, as there was no need to create storage areas. As a result, they focused on space and good design, which was properly exposed. On a small area, they separated a living room that also serves as a place to work with a small but fully functional kitchenette, as well as a bedroom with a capacious closet and a bathroom.

a place for luxury

The heart of the living room is an elegant dummy fireplace along with armchairs and atmospheric lighting. There is also a desk where the artist creates, and cabinets filled with artbooks. In the bedroom, a ... bed was abandoned. Its function is performed by a comfortable mattress. Opposite it, a large closet with glass doors was placed, which optically enlarges the interior. In the apartment, quantity gives way to quality - we can admire real designer gems here, including Tom Dixon candles and Flexform lounge furniture. The whole is harmonious and subtle, thus creating the perfect atmosphere for creative work.
