Marek Chrobak has been elected the new president of SARP's Board of Directors. He will succeed Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys in this position.
At the General Meeting of SARP Delegates, held on Friday, June 7 in Warsaw, it was decided that Marek Chrobak (SARP Rzeszów Branch) will be the president of the General Board of the Association of Polish Architects for the upcoming term falling in the years 2024-2028. The Rzeszów architect won 59 votes of support. Also running for the position were Jakub Krzysztofik (SARP Branch Łódź), who was supported by 30 delegates, and Daria Kieżun (SARP Branch Wrocław), who won 23 votes.
Marek Chrobak is a member of the Rzeszow branch of the Association of Polish Architects, of which he was president for many years (2011-2019), and a competition judge. He also served as vice president for internal affairs (until July 2023) and for creative affairs (from July 2023) in the previous term of the SARP General Board.
The architect, who is based in Rzeszow, is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology. After gaining professional experience in a design studio in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, together with Andrzej Depa, he opened the ArchiGROUP Architecture Studio in 1998. The studio primarily creates public buildings (including the "P" building of the Rzeszow University of Technology or the headquarters of the Theological and Pastoral Institute in Rzeszow), residential and production buildings.
