New Vertua® low-emission bagged cements in CEMEX Polska's portfolio support the "Future in Action" strategy
CEMEX Poland has expanded its range of bagged cements to include low-emission Vertua® products. This is another step towards achieving CEMEX's ambitious climate goals with its global "Future in Action" strategy.
CEMEX Poland has been consistently expanding its portfolio of low-carbon solutions. In 2021, the company offered its customers the first Vertua® products, which allow a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of ongoing investments. Initially, the range included concretes, admixtures and bulk cements. In May this year, the Vertua® product range was expanded to include two bagged cements.

The first of these - Vertua® Ultra CEM II/B-M (S-V) 42.5 R - is a multi-component Portland cement produced at Chelm Cement Plant. Thanks to the appropriately selected proportion of clinker and non-clinker main ingredients, it combines the advantages of slag and ash cements and pure clinker cements.
Vertua® Ultra bagged cement is characterized by high early strength and reducedCO2 emissions. It is primarily used in substructures and stabilization for concrete pavements or in structural and non-structural elements of buildings.
The second - Vertua® Plus CEM II/A-LL 42.5 R - NA - is a Portland lime cement produced at Rudniki Cement Plant. It is the optimal choice for applications for which pure lime cements are normally used, including construction and renovation work requiring high early strengths to support the pace of the work. This is due to the right proportion of ingredients and high-performance activators.
- Vertua® Ultra and Vertua® Plus products complement CEMEX's current portfolio of bagged cements with low-carbon solutions. Now customers who use bagged cements in their projects will be able to significantly reduce their carbon footprint. Importantly, the quality of the implemented investments will remain at the highest level - thanks to the excellent properties of Vertua® products, in the creation of which CEMEX experts from the Technical Advisory Team, the Cement Production Division and the Cement Quality Team are involved," says Jacek Warta, Sales Director in the Distribution Segment at CEMEX Poland.
CEMEX for the climate - "Future in Action" strategy
The implementation of environmentally friendly product solutions is part of CEMEX's global strategy entitled. "Future in Action." Its goal is to combat climate change by reducing carbon emissions from production processes at plants, from operations or providing low-carbon products, etc.
In 2020, the company announced its "Future in Action" strategy, setting its own global target for reducing carbon emissions - by 35% by 2030 (compared to 1990 emission levels).
The said target has already been achieved in Europe. By 2030, CEMEX intends to reduce emissions at its European plants by as much as 55%, thus referring to the European Union's newCO2 reduction strategy.
By 2050, CEMEX aims to supply all customers worldwide with zero netCO2 emissions concrete.
