Karina Kozak and Pawel Kalski, design graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and Paulina Kalska, an architect and graduate of Poznan University of Technology, talk about their experiences from student exchanges and internships abroad. Paulina Kalska
Architect, graduated from Poznan University of Technology, during which she participated in a student exchange with VIA University College in Horsens, Denmark. She earned an additional first degree in Architectural Technology & Construction Management while studying in Denmark. She defended her degree as an exchange student at the Southbank Institute of TAFE in Brisbane, Australia. For her first professional internship abroad, she went to Barcelona to the studio of Alejandro Zaera-Polo Architecture. She took part in a competition in which she won a trip to Luanda, Angola, for an internship. She is currently based in Warsaw, where she was professionally associated with Open Architekci studio, and now works at Kurylowicz & Associates.
Karina Kozak
Graduated in design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk (2019). Since her teenage years, she has been a lover of everything related to design, films and creations for films. Through hobbyist creation of costumes and objects from her favorite pop culture productions, she acquired a range of skills that she now uses in her own studio to create original and commercial designs, costumes and prototypes. She has been a finalist and winner of many make-up and cosplay competitions.
Pawel Kalski
Graduate in design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk (2019), author of the urban oasis project. As part of an exchange program, he studied at Escola Superior de Artes e Design (ESAD) in Portugal and Wroclaw University of Technology, as well as did an internship related to reverse engineering in Spain. He currently lives in Warsaw, developing his skills and gaining further experience by participating in initiatives that combine design with other disciplines. In his work, he likes to use the possibilities offered by 3D graphics manipulation software along with the use of rapid prototyping. In his free time, he participates in projects related to photography, filmmaking and computer games.
