It is with great pride and joy that we share with you the news that Kacper Kepinski, editor of the A&B portal and head of external projects and exhibitions at the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism, has been awarded an honorable mention in the Responsibility Pen competition.
Organized for 11 years by the Responsible Business Forum, the Pen of Responsibility competition is addressed to journalists and journalists, as well as experts who write about corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.
In this year's edition, the competition entries were judged by a jury consisting of Prof. Janina Filek, PhD, from the Cracow University of Economics, an expert of the CRASP Committee on Communication and Responsibility. Communication and Responsibility; Dr. Ewa Jastrzębska, lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics, expert and trainer in social responsibility and strategic management; Piotr Mazurkiewicz, journalist at "Rzeczpospolita" andwinner of last year's award in the competition in the thematic category "responsible consumption and production"; Paweł Oksanowicz, journalist, host of the program Bizon - responsible and modern business on MUZO.FM; Jakub Pawlowski, journalist at Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, winner of last year's contest honorable mention in the "press article - electronic and print media" category; Pawel Strawinski, journalist at Forbes, winner of last year's honorable mention in the "press article - electronic and print media" category, and Marzena Strzelczak, president, CEO of the Responsible Business Forum and chairwoman of the contest jury.
According to the organizers, a record number of 147 articles were submitted for the 11th edition of the competition in three categories - "expert article - electronic and print media" (52 publications), "press article - electronic and print media" (47 publications) and a category for texts on the pandemic and its impact on workplaces (48 publications). Kacper Kepinski received an honorable mention in the category of press article - print and electronic media for the article published on our portal entitled "Spaces of climate catastrophe: the edible city" for:
a convincing and original presentation of the concept of the city as a place of food production, a fresh look at the topic, and a combination of two issues of key importance for a sustainable future.
The award-winning publication (which you can read here) was part of a six-part series of articles Climate Change Space devoted to architectural strategies for adapting cities to the climate crisis. Each article focused on a different issue or function that plazas, parks and streets will need to perform in the near future - from water retention, to providing access to food, to places prepared to accommodate climate migrants.

In the "newspaper article - electronic and print media" category, in which Kacper Kepinski was awarded, the main prize was won by Cezary Kowanda for his article published in Polityka weekly, titled "The carbon footprint of the world. "Covidium carbon footprint", a special prize was awarded to Magdalena Krukowska for an article published on Obserwatorfinansowy.pl entitled "ESG assessments need to be standardized". An honorable mention was also given to Adam Grzeszak for an article published in the Polityka weekly titled "The kitchen revolutionaries. "Kitchen revolutionaries".
In the "expert article - electronic and print media" category, three honorable mentions were awarded: to Dominika Sadowska and Malgorzata Wypych for the article published in Personel Plus magazine entitled "We have mobbing in the company - and what next?", to Professor Krzysztof Obłój for the text entitled "We have mobbing in the company - and what next?", available in Gazeta Nienieodpowiedzialni on www.nienieodpowiedzialni.pl. "Dreams and meaning in management", and to Małgorzata Nader and Magdalena Poradzki for the article "Silversi - a beautiful name or a hidden stigma?" published in the Personel Plus magazine.
In the "pandemic and the workplace" category, the top prize went to Joanna Koprowska for her article entitled "A trying time for women" published in ICAN Management Review. The honorable mention went to Stefan Bulaszewski, for his article "A great company for difficult times" published in Personel Plus magazine.
My sincere congratulations to the winners and awardees not only for their choice of topics: important and timely for responsible business and more broadly sustainable socio-economic development. Also, the ability to show these issues in a way that can inspire. This is a role that cannot be overestimated in the dissemination and maturation of CSR in Poland.
