Work submitted for the competition
"Best Interior Diploma 2020/2022".
The project focuses on the concept of a new creative workspace and coworking office in a currently closed tenement at 18 Wladyslaw Andersa Street in Koszalin. The work included the design of the entire building, and detailed development of two floors of the tenement, with a total area of about a thousand square meters.

The author conducted environmental research in the form of a questionnaire; it concerned the phenomenon of coworking and freelancing, as well as interest in working in coworking spaces among Koszalin residents. The research helped to estimate the prospects for such a space in the Koszalin market and showed the number of people potentially interested in coworking.

The main idea of the project was to create an alternative space for work and all kinds of creative meetings in the form of an office or coworking center. An abandoned five-story tenement with a total area of more than two thousand square meters was selected for the development. The empty raw spaces of the tenement do not suggest design activities, giving a wide field for creative solutions.

The author's assumption was to create a variety of spaces, more or less intimate, open and closed, conducive to integration, exchange of experiences, but also isolation, and was accompanied by the slogans "variability", "flexibility" and "multidisciplinarity".

The most important value in the project is the element of interpenetration of individual zones and discovering them as one moves deeper into the building. It was important to achieve the effect of a certain mystery and understatement. The space from the very entrance invites exploration. The second floor of the office is a representative space, open and accessible to the public. It houses the administration, occupying an area of 34.6 square meters. This zone was delineated as close as possible to the entrance to facilitate the organization and functioning of the office.

The main programmatic idea of the second floor is precisely public accessibility and a free open space of 380 square meters. This means that the space is designed for flexible forms of use, not binding for long periods - renting for hours, days, or 2-3 weeks, for example. This floor also includes a separate kitchen (48.7 square meters), toilets: women's, men's and for people with disabilities (50 square meters), as well as micro-offices, each with 22.3 square meters of space. The micro-offices are an exception in this space - they are intended for private and long-term rental (several months, a year or more).

The second floor is open space for long-term rental users. Many zones repeat the organization of the second floor: there are toilets in the same place, while a large 50-square-meter meeting room is located in place of the kitchen. A second smaller meeting room (18.6 square meters) is located right at the entrance to the floor. For this, as on the second floor, two micro-offices have been separated.
