Tomorrow (18.02) at 8 a.m., we invite you in front of the screens for the next episode in the series Awakenings! Morning conversations about childhood, studies and the beginnings of careers with well-known people from the creative industry are held as part of the Street Cloud project organized by the anti-RAMA collective - a microtelevision about urban culture.
The guest of tomorrow's episode will be Jerzy Lątka - an architect and researcher associated with the Faculty of Architecture at the Wroclaw University of Technology. In his work he deals with the possibilities offered by the use of paper in the realization of innovative structures, as well as temporary, relief, housing and social architecture. He has gained professional and academic experience in Poland, the UK, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands and Germany, among other countries. In 2013, together with Shigeru Ban Architects and Voluntary Architects Network, he participated in the design and implementation of an aid Paper Nursery School in China. In 2016, he won first place in the Futu Wro City of the Future/Laboratory Wrocław competition as part of the European Capital of Culture for his project House of Cards / House of Cards - an experimental living unit made of paper components. In 2017, he was selected as one of ten Polish innovators under the age of 35 by the prestigious MIT Technology Review. In 2019, he conducted research in the interdisciplinary team BAMP (Bauen mit Papier) at the Darmstadt University of Technology. In 2020, he received a grant from the "Leader" program of the National Center for Research and Development to conduct interdisciplinary research on the use of paper in architectural structures. He is the founder of the paper architecture design and research platform www.archi-tektura.eu
