Against the background of the estate of single-family houses stands out a building with a characteristic body, in which triangular forms play the main role. The building, which was built on a trapezoidal plan, is another realization of the REFORM Architekt studio.

RE: TRIANGLE HOUSE is a two-story building with an area of 280 square meters placed on an 800-meter plot in the suburbs of Szczecin. Its unusual body is very different from the initial assumptions of the investor, who approached architect Marcin Tomaszewski with a request to remodel the house, which was already under construction.

In the words of the architect:

It was a project in the Tuscan style. I proposed a new block and so the half-completed project was demolished and put up anew.

This resulted in a house with a mono-pitched roof, with a triangular facade. As the designer stresses, everything is a result of geometry, and the shape of the block itself is also due to the uneven plot.

Geometry and contrasts

The house was founded on a trapezoidal plan, with a triangular extension added to it. The building, like a sculpture, looks different from each side, and the architect emphasized this impression by using contrasting finishing materials. The triangular façade was emphasized by using white and black. The walls, which are offset from each other, were covered with white plaster, gray concrete and black cladding. Meanwhile, on the garden side, a white triangular covered terrace was added to the dark high elevation.

The project also included the interior of the building, which was kept in gray and white. The color scheme used was broken with wood in the shade of American walnut. The architect was keen to maintain a style related to the exterior, hence the slanted ceilings and lamps.
