The interiors from KW Studio are characterized by a distinct character achieved with an economical language. Designer Klara Ostrowska selects accessories and materials with great care, searching for unique finds. A small apartment in Warsaw's Old Mokotów district is a perfect example of this.
The investor is an artist who lives in France every day. Therefore, in the Warsaw apartment it was important to obtain an atmosphere of tranquility and calm, which would help to achieve balance after numerous travels. Its location - Old Mokotow- is conducive to this. It's a green neighborhood filled with intimate, historic buildings. The authors of this interior, Klara Ostrowska of KW Studio and Kama Czumowska, took full advantage of its potential.

make the most of small space
Functional design of a studio apartment is always a big challenge. In this case, the designer fit all the necessary functions into the space. This was helped by moving the kitchen to the living room, which made it possible to separate the bedroom. An important function in the apartment is also played by storage compartments and cabinets, thanks to which it is possible to accommodate many things without creating visual clutter. Such a function is performed, for example, by the bookcase in the living room, which also has door-closed cabinets.

playing with light
The atmosphere of the apartment is added by the preserved old parquet floor and the original front door. Where the woodwork needed to be replaced, it was replaced with new, but retaining its simple character. The whole is kept in light, subdued colors. The apartment is bright, which gives room to play with light. The colors used in the apartment change depending on the lighting, moving from muted blues through greens to grays.

vintage details
Design aficionados will appreciate the presence of such tastes as the Cesca chairs designed by Marcel Breuer. They form a cohesive composition with the vintage table. There is also a newly upholstered Scandinavian sofa in the living room. The owner's favorite ceramics found their place on the kitchen cabinet by String. The clarity and simplicity of this interior make it the perfect backdrop for the abstract artwork on the walls and the trinkets displayed on the bookcase.

In the bathroom, modernity is interspersed with vintage threads. Rectangular nautical tiles by Sartoria, edged with navy blue borders, bring to mind interwar bath salons. A modern washbasin with Bruma fixtures sat on an old, refurbished cabinet.
