The first "balancing" sculpture by Jerzy Kedziora has been hung in Wroclaw. It is part of the latest investment by developer Nacarat Polska

14 of July '21

Residents of Wroclaw can see the city's first sculpture by Jerzy "Jontka" Kedziora. The artist is known around the world mainly for his "flying", "levitating" or "balancing" sculptures. The work, depicting an acrobatic woman tightening a rope, was created at the end of the fourth investment realized by the Nacarat Polska development company in Wroclaw.

Nacarat Polska has symbolically completed its fourth investment in Wroclaw. It concerned the construction of seven residential buildings in Wroclaw's Borek at the intersection of Slezna Street and Oak Avenue. Maćków Pracownia Projektowa is responsible for the design of the estate - as in the case of the first three investments. Admittedly, the estate was commissioned at the end of March, but only now has it been decided to crown the end of the investment with the proverbial icing on the cake. The company decided to locate between the buildings a hanging new sculpture by Jerzy Kedziora.

"Tensioning the Rope"

Jerzy K edziora's first sculpture in Wroclaw to date depicts a woman stretching a rope, hence its name. She is a figure resembling a young dancer or acrobat. She is situated between four buildings, at an equal distance from each of them. "Tensing Rope" is another in the series of the artist's so-called balancing sculptures. They have brought Kedzora popularity around the world. By experimenting with the laws of physics, he has proven that a sculpture, even if made of traditional materials, does not have to be visually heavy and difficult to look at.

Art in Nacarat Polska's investments

Locating sculptures in the investment area is a common practice for the French developer. The company admits that incorporating art into public space is an important part of its mission.

Let's recall that Nacarat Polska's previous investments (Kurkowa 14 and Dubois 41) included the renovation of a more than 100-meter-long walking boulevard along the Odra River or the city square at Mosty Mieszczanskie. On the patio of the building at Kurkowa 14 stood Jaroslaw Flicinski' s sculpture "Cream flows with curls," while in front of the Dubois 41 office building was the work of local artist Krystian Czaplicki "Wrocław 2016."
