The e-Festival of Urban Exploration - The Factory Heritage of Lodz is a virtual interdisciplinary project including walks, lectures and an urban game. Together with urban explorer Radosław Stępień, we will walk through historic, often abandoned staircases of Łódź tenement houses. We will be able to see what is often inaccessible to the ordinary passerby.
Lodz is an unobvious city, full of architectural gems, nooks and crannies and historical elements, i.e. tenements, staircases, courtyards. The e-Festival of Urban Exploration is a project aimed at introducing both Lodz residents and other Polish citizens to the heritage of Lodz - the beauty and undiscovered places for the wider public.
The staircase trail walk will take place on Thursday, July 9 at 8:00 pm on the event's website. It will be a virtual walk showing the beauty and diversity of the interiors of buildings in Lodz. The guide will focus on showing the beauty of ornamentation and historic details.
The e-Festival of Urban Exploration is a broad exploration of the "urban fabric". It is created by people with a passion for history and modernity, authors of publications about Lodz, who are fascinated by discovering the city every day.
Virtual city walks and lectures will be adapted to the needs of the blind - they will be prepared with sound care, so as to transport viewers into the atmosphere of old Lodz. Subtitles in Polish and English will be prepared for the deaf.
The organizer and originator of the Urban Exploration Festival is Radek Redman Stępień - a community organizer of tours, walks and workshops, who finds places and architectural elements worth caring for and taking care of.
