Second place - urban educational meadow
The project entitled. "Urban educational meadow", whose authors are Anna Stępień, Barbara Strzelczyk, Zuzanna Woznicka, received second place. The students proposed a development, the great value of which is the feasibility and functional solutions conducive to the integration of the local community, and pro-environmental activities. The flower me adow makes it possible to introduce and maintain biodiversity in the city and retain moisture in the soil, while new tree plantings affect air quality.

As we read in the justification of the jury:
The work is distinguished by a clear presentation of the ideological assumptions and spatial solutions indicating great design sensitivity and ability to create space. [...] The traffic routes were preserved and a new form of development was proposed, which, together with benches and canopies, creates a space for social interaction and a place for outdoor exhibitions. A good idea was the new formulation of the square's boundary in the form of a combination of existing stairs and brick and wood seating. Here, the reference to the history of the site through the material of Muranow brick used in the seats and the reuse of elements of the existing pavement of the square is noteworthy. Attention was given to designating space for a pro-social mural or tribute to the patron, as well as a plaque commemorating Bohdan Lachert. The project also includes educational elements, including suggestions for QR codes to ecologically educate passersby. A bottle machine for exchanging plastic bottles for plant seeds is also an interesting idea.
