We would like to invite you to the next, the twelfth edition of the ARENA DESIGN fair. They will be a space for meetings and discussions on the conscious use of raw materials, supporting local craftsmanship, responsible design and ways to prevent intellectual theft in the design industry. The motto of the February event will be the idea of slowness.
ARENA DESIGN 2020 will be held in Poznań from February 25 to 28 next year. For the upcoming edition, the event's creative director, Maria Jeglińska-Adamczewska, has invited designers who will share with the audience concepts of creative use of the idea of slowness, talk about their inspirations, innovative ideas, as well as bring closer the reality of working with manufacturers and ways to reach the customer.

Michael Anastassiades, who has run his own design studio in London since 1994, specializes in lighting design. He also creates furniture, jewelry and everyday objects. He uses natural materials in his work, and his designs are produced in family-run workshops using traditional handicraft methods. He has collaborated with brands such as: Flos, Cassina, Bang & Olufsen, Puiforcat, Lobmeyr, Salvatori, Svenskt Tenn, Carl Auböck/Sigmar and Coedition, and his work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the FRAC Centre in Orleans and the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna.
Torbjørn Anderssen, who together with Espen Voll co-founded the Anderssen&Voll studio, which designs furniture, lighting and home accessories. The creators have worked with Muuto, Kvadrat, Magis, Foscarini and Lapalma, among others.
Carole Baijings, who together with Stefan Scholten until 2019, formed Scholten & Baijings design studio for furniture, textiles, porcelain and glassware. The designers have collaborated with brands and institutions such as The Art Institute of Chicago, Victoria & Albert Museum, Cooper Hewitt, Rijksmuseum, 1616 / arita japan, Herman Miller, Georg Jensen, Maharam, Thomas Eyck and Karimoku New Standard, and their work has been recognized several times with Dutch Design Awards and ELLE Decoration International Design Awards.
Jan Boelen - lecturer at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands, artistic director of Belgium's Z33 House for Contemporary Art in Hasselt, an innovative center operating at the intersection of art and design, as well as Atelier LUMA, an experimental design laboratory in Arles, France. He curated the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial.
Maddalena Casadei - a designer guided by the principle of establishing personal relationships with clients, craftsmen and materials. She specializes in exhibition design, exhibition arrangement and product visual communication. In 2017, she opened her own design studio in Milan.
Giulio Ridolfo - textile designer and color specialist. He works with brands such as Kvadrat, Andreu world and Moroso.
Seetal Solanki - designer and founder of the Ma-tt-erstudio, which conducts research, education and consultation activities in the field of conscious and responsible use of materials. Her activity focuses on introducing the public to the concept of sensible, ecological and far-sighted use of materials. A manifesto of her views became the book "Why Materials Matter; Responsible Design for a Better World," in which she argues for a better future and shows how to do it - how to produce, design and consume with care for the planet. Seetal Solanki has collaborated with NIKE, Selfridges, World Water Day, IKEA/SPACE10, British Council, The Design Museum, Hyundai, Ace & Tate, It's Nice That, among others.
