Voting for the Audience Award - student design of accessible railroad carriage interiors
We encourage you to vote for the Audience Award - the best design of railroad carriage interiors made at Poznan University of Technology in the competition "Innovative solutions for railroad carriage interiors supporting the mobility of people with disabilities" organized by WA Poznan University of Technology and Poznan Institute of Technology. To indicate your favorite, just cast your vote forit - you can vote only once, only for one project from among the twenty presented. Voting lasts from July 7 to September 10 this year at23:59*. The author or author of the work with the highest number of votes will receive a diploma and a one-year subscription to the monthly magazine "A&B".
Students of the Faculty of Architecture at Poznań University of Technology, as part of the internal competition "Innovative solutions for the interiors of railroad carriages supporting the mobility of peoplewith disabilities" were to propose concepts for the interiors of two compartments (including a compartment adapted to the needs of people with disabilities) of a passenger carriage, which will present the best functional and aesthetic solutions.
Students were to design a compartment including a toilet for a person with disabilities, which was to include two beds and two seats (person with disabilities + companion). In addition, lockers for storing personal clothing and luggage had to be included. The next part of the challenge was to design one of the three, proposed compartments - a single-seat couchette arrangement of 4 micro-apartments, a four-seat couchette, a two-seat sleeping compartment with a toilet.
On June 28, 2023, the results of the competition were announced. Three prizes and two honorable mentions were awarded. We wrote about the outcome of the competition in the article Student interior designs for accessible railroad cars. The results of the competition.
