The 18th edition of OKK! design - a series of meetings bringing together architects, designers, design lovers, journalists and the best interior design brands - is behind us. This time, guests gathered in the industrial space MYSIA 3 attended the premiere of the latest collection of BARLINEK NEXT STEP floors, listened to inspiring speeches by distinguished special guests: Szymon Hanczar, Przemo Łukasik, Tomek and Gosia Rygalik, and learned about trends from this year's Milan trade fair.
On the 20th of September, for the first time after a long break due to the pandemic, another, the 18th edition of OKK! design took place in the MYSIA 3 conference space. Guests were welcomed by Olga Kisiel-Konopka, the originator of the meetings and owner of the OKK! PR agency, and Dorota Karbowska-Zawadzka - Marketing Director of Barlinek.

New from Barlinek
The meeting was co-organized by Barlinek, a manufacturer of high-quality floors, which presented its latest NEXT STEP collection to the guests. It includes waterproof hybrid floors, which were discussed by Robert Kupczewski, Senior Product Manager, and vinyl floors, which were presented by Przemyslaw Soltysiak, Product Director. The audience learned about the revolutionary features of the new products and the installation method. They had the opportunity to do so both directly after the speeches, when the experts hotly answered questions from the audience, and during conversations with representatives at the displays with samples of Barlinek floors.

Inspiringly about design
As usual during OKK! design meetings, the stage was filled with distinguished special guests. The first of them, Dr. Szymon Hanczar, interior architect and object designer, owner of hanczarstudio office, lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, perversely titled his presentation "I haven't talked about it yet...". He talked about designs for trade fair stands (including for the Barlinek brand) and office spaces, and shared his passion for DIY with the audience, introducing interesting solutions that he used in his furniture designs.
Next up was Przemo Lukasik, founder of Medusa Group, an architectural studio, who talked about how he is a proponent of designing for specific users, followed by the context of a given project. As one example, the architect presented BOLKO LOFT, which he designed for himself and his family in an adapted post-industrial building with an unusual shape, located on the site of the mine of the "Orzeł Biały" Mining and Smelting Plant in Bytom.

Other special guests at the 18th edition of OKK! design were Tomek Rygalik, designer, lecturer, doctor of art, founder of Studio Rygalik, and Gosia Rygalik, a designer also active in education and culture, who talked about their work and the latest Design Nature initiative - a platform for creative artists, organizations and companies for whom values such as holistic, sustainable design, respect for the environment and nature and celebrating a good, conscious life are important. The Barlinek brand is also part of this effort, supporting Studio Rygalik in creating a creative campus surrounded by nature, which is Sobole.
A few words about Milan
Also appearing on the OKK! design stage was Anna Gruzewska, editor-in-chief of Czas na Wnętrze magazine, who took the audience on a journey to Milan and shared her insights on this year's Salone del Mobile fair - unusual because of the pandemic. She talked about interesting stands and exhibitions and introduced OKK! design guests to the trends observed in top brands. She also asked important questions about the legitimacy of the actions and messages of equipment manufacturers in the context of ecology and concern for the environment, as well as the new postcovid reality.

In a good atmosphere
Traditionally, at the end of the meeting, which was full of interesting and inspiring lectures, there was a competition for participants - the prizes were gifts from the organizers and partners of the meeting.
Stylization of the MYSIA 3 space was the responsibility of stylist Patrycja Sapiełkin-Strupiechowska, who, with the help of furniture and plants from the event's partners - the BoConcept brand and the Flower Service company - created a pleasant atmosphere conducive to backstage talks. The palates of the guests were taken care of by La Cateria and Sucre patisserie. The thirst of OKK! design participants was quenched by On Lemon drinks and coffee served by baristas of KawePale roaster. The meeting was immortalized by photographer Lidia Skuza.
