How to protect cities from rapid hydrological phenomena, rivers from the degrading effects of cities, and finally,how to fully exploit the synergies and potential that rivers give to cities without contributing to their degradation? Dr. Kinga Krauze of the European Regional Center for Ecohydrology at the Polish Academy of Sciences answers the questions posed by Przemek Ciępka.
Dr. Kinga Krauze - researcher at the European Regional Center for Ecohydrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, received her PhD in river ecology from the Faculty of Ecology and Earth Sciences at the University of Lodz. She is associated with the Global Network for Long-Term Ecological Research (ILTER), within which she served as vice-president of the European Network for Long-Term Ecosystem Research for a decade. She has authored numerous publications on aquatic ecosystems, blue-green infrastructure and social ecology, among other topics. She specializes in urban and rural water resources management, urban revitalization based on the achievements of blue-green infrastructure, and ecosystem conservation.
The conversation took place at the Open Eyes Economy Summit 2024, an event of which Architecture&Business was a media partner. This year's Value Economy Congress was held under the theme "The Soul of Europe."
