New! Schüco FocusIng PVC-U windows with reduced carbon footprint!

26 of June '24

The innovative Schüco FocusIng PVC-U system is distinguished by the minimalist appearance of its aluminum joinery, excellent thermal performance and optimal environmental characteristics due to its reduced built-inCO2 content. With a shallow installation depth of 70 mm, the solution provides a wide range of design possibilities and can be easily applied to both new and renovated buildings.

At first glance, the Schüco FocusIng PVC-U system draws attention with its distinctive, modernist design reminiscent of aluminum joinery. The window with its clean, straight lines has an impressively shallow frame depth of only 70 mm. Thanks to carefully thought-out structural solutions, the system is distinguished by an excellent heat transfer coefficient as low as Uw ≤ 0.8 W/m2K when using typical double-glazing Ug = 0.5 W/m2K. Such excellent properties were achieved by increasing the depth of the sash to 76 mm. The system can be successfully used in all buildings, both new and modernized, and in various combinations and design variants - as a single-panel window, a multi-panel window, a balcony window, a side entrance door and even a PASK tilt and slide door. The high recyclate content of the profiles' inner core, optimum use of the material and excellent thermal insulation contribute to reducing the CO2 footprint of embedded joinery.

Ecodesign in PVC-U windows

The new Schüco FocusIng system is designed for the most efficient use of materials. A high amount of recycled material is used inside the profile and can be easily returned to the secondary raw material cycle at the end of use. In the last quarter of 2024, as many as 7 out of 10 profiles will contain the characteristic "gray" recycled inner core, with the proportion of recycled raw material in the profile reaching 50%. The system, composed of 5/6 chambers with an improved geometry, allows the insertion of warm double glazing as thick as 52 mm, and is available in a variant with a permanently flexible, double-welded glazing gasket that guarantees tightness for years. The use of recycled material, optimized material consumption and excellent thermal insulation make this solution a definite contributor to lowering theCO2 footprint of the building envelope.

Consistent design and economical production

The striking, minimalist aesthetics of Schüco FocusIng windows mean that they can be coherently combined with Schüco aluminum systems within a single façade. Wide freedom to create individual compositions is provided by a very rich palette of more than 300 standard and special foils in metallic, solid colors and various wood species. The creators of the new system have also ensured its compatibility with existing Schüco LivIng and Schüco CT 70 systems. Connecting and complementing profiles, as well as steel reinforcements and glazing beads used in the same way in all systems, which greatly facilitates production and storage. Efficiency in manufacturing is further guaranteed by the use of standard glazing beads and factory-fitted gaskets, as well as identical ventilation and drainage holes in all main profiles. Carefully considered design and improved accessories ensure high process reliability.
