Tychy Water Park has been named among the finalists of the World Architecture Festival 2019, in the "Energy Production and Recycling" category. The Tychy facility will compete against 14 buildings from around the world. A total of more than half a thousand buildings were awarded in 33 categories of the competition.
16 thousand square meters of floor space, 1.7 thousand square meters of swimming pools and water attractions, eight functional zones, Poland's first surf simulator in a swimming pool facility and the so-called " aqualoop " with a vertical takeoff are just some of the attractions that await visitors in Tychy. Thanks to innovative solutions - such as the production of electricity and heat from biogas and the use during construction of aluminum and glass, highly insulated structures based on Aluprof systems - maintenance of the facility is relatively inexpensive. According to estimates, costs are about 25% lower than if the facility had operated under a classic energy and organizational formula.
The building, which opened in late April last year, was designed by TK Holding - Architecture, BIM, VR. During construction, Polbet used Aluprof profile systems: MB-86SI (MB-86 is the world's first aluminum window and door system to use aerogel as an insulating insert, in the MB-86 Aero version), MB-SR50NHI+ (curtain wall, mullion and transom, withvery high thermal insulation), MB-45 (window and door system, without a thermal barrier) and MB-78EI (fire partitions with doors with resistance to EI 90 and having aluminum profiles with a thermal barrier). These are the solutions used in many prestigious investments, winning top-class energy efficiency certificates. Among other things, thanks to the appropriate properties of structures based on Aluprof systems, Aluprof Water Park Tychy is self-sufficient in energy.
The main awards of the World Architecture Festival will be handed out at a special gala to be held on December 4-6, 2019 in Amsterdam. They will be judged by an international chapter composed of the most prominent figures in the architectural world.
