Tomorrow's Thursday, so it's time for another Awakenings, or morning conversations about childhood, college time, career beginnings, plans and ideas with well-known people from the creative industry. The series of weekly conversations is made possible thanks to a microtalk on urban culture organized by the anti-RAMA collective and carried out as part of the Street Cloud project.
The guest of tomorrow's episode of the series will be Monika Nyckowska - set designer, costume designer and architect. Monika Nyckowska is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Anwterpia, and her graduation costume collection received an honorable mention and a nomination for the Hugo Roalandt Award. She also studied at the Scenography Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the Architecture Department of the Warsaw University of Technology. She also studied Scenography at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-La Villette, and is a graduate of Gender Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences. She received the 2013 Jerzy Moskal Award for her graduation project of set and costume design for "The Cherry Orchard," a drama by Anton Chekhov.
Monika Nyckowska realizes projects for theaters (including television) and galleries for performances, galas and exhibitions. In this morning's conversation with Lukasz Harat, she will talk about the future of post-pandemic theater, the life of a stage designer in times of pestilence, and the differences in education in Poland, France and Belgium, among other topics.
