How to functionally design a 37-square-meter studio apartment? Such a challenge was faced by architects from the 3XEL studio, designing the interior of a compact apartment in the complex of a former cigarette factory in Lodz.

functionality
In a small apartment with an open plan, the architects tried to clearly separate the necessary functions. The only space enclosed by walls is the bathroom. The living area is formed by the kitchenette and living room, and hidden behind a large closet and a bookcase is the night area - a bedroom with a high bed accommodating capacious drawers.

The kitchenette, though small, is maximally utilized thanks to a high built-in cabinet that hides the refrigerator, dishwasher and oven. The kitchen area is also visually separated by bright tiles on the floor, contrasting with the warm shade of the living room panels. Between the kitchenette and the living room, the architects placed a round table marking the dining area.
Minimalism
The use of white as the main color in the apartment was decided by the location of the northern windows facing the built-up narrow street.
We tried to create a bright, cozy, yet minimalist living space. The white is complemented by natural wood, plants and the only strong color accent - a red velour sofa," write the authors of the project.

Thetall, white furniture and walls are the background for the lounge area of the apartment, where a sofa distinguished by its intense color, a wooden dresser, a black square coffee table and a painting contrasting with the color of the walls are located.
