From the macro scale - about the soul of Europe and togetherness, to the micro scale - about Wroclaw, the selection of a new Architect of the City and the ongoing competition for the expansion of the Museum of Architecture, Rafal Dutkiewicz, CEO of Employers of Poland and long-time president of Wroclaw, is interviewed by Ola Kloc.
Rafal Dutkiewicz - the first president of Wroclaw to be directly elected in 2002 - has held office continuously for four terms. Since April 2023, he has been chairman of the board of the Employers of Poland.
Graduate of applied mathematics at the Faculty of Fundamental Technological Problems of the Wroclaw University of Technology. He also studied at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy of the Catholic University of Lublin, where he earned his doctorate in formal logic in 1985. During martial law, he was a Solidarity activist, becoming secretary of the Wroclaw "Solidarity" Civic Committee in 1989 and its chairman in 1990. A long-time researcher at the Catholic University of Lublin and the University of Wroclaw, he was awarded a scholarship from the Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst in Freiburg. Awarded, among others, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, and the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Belgian Order of the Crown, the Swedish Order of the Polar Star, the French Legion of Honor.
