The housing crisis and traffic exclusion are two pressing challenges. Katarzyna Szostak asks Pawel Karbownik, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Finance, about how the government will face them.
Pawel Karbownik is an economist (a graduate of finance and banking at the Warsaw School of Economics) and diplomat. He held the position of deputy director in the EU Economic Department at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he led the team responsible for the programming of the Polish presidency of the EU Council in 2011, the draft concept of the energy union, or sanctions on Russia in 2014. From 2014 to 2019, he served as advisor to the President of the European Council on the G7, G20 and EU strategic agenda. On December 13, 2023, he was appointed Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance.
The conversation took place at the Open Eyes Economy Summit 2024, an event of which Architecture&Business was a media partner. This year's Value Economy Congress was held under the theme "The Soul of Europe."
