Sun shading systems in modern residential architecture
When planning the construction of our own home, we should already think about its energy intensity at the design stage. Later, at the stage of using the house, this will translate into a reduction in the costs associated with its ongoing maintenance. One way to reduce the heating of the interior of the premises, and thus reduce the costs associated with the energy spent on reducing the temperature inside the house, for example, by using air conditioning during the summer, is to use the Selt Sp. z o.o. brand sunshade systems. Among the group of these systems that we successfully use in single-family homes are reflectors and facade blinds, as well as pergolas and awnings.

Reflectors
Reflectors are a group of textile roller blinds with the character of vertical sunshades. The structure of the roller blinds is made of extruded aluminum. Roller blinds have the possibility of manual or electric control. They are characterized by high resistance to weather conditions. These products reduce excessive heat build-up and eliminate light reflections in the rooms. The most popular among individual customers, are roller blinds of the Refleksol ZiiiP BOX type with a flush-mounted cassette and welded side locks at the fabric, which prevent the fabric from falling out of the guide, while making it resistant to wind conditions and insect invasions.

Facade blinds
Another group are facade blinds. These are functional and timeless lamellar sunshades, controlled electrically or manually. The structure of the blinds is made of extruded aluminum. Facade blinds are shields that provide thermal comfort to the rooms in use. Their advantage is the adjustable angle of the lamellas, resistance to weather conditions and UV radiation. These products, can be built in a flush-mounted option. The most popular blinds are the Z90 BOX type, with a flush-mounted cassette, which come in options with or without additional insulation and guides mounted without a distance between the window joinery and the guide itself.

Pergolas
The penultimate product group is pergolas. These are structures with lamella or fabric, movable roofing for terraces or other enclosed outdoor areas. These are systems that fulfill the function of sun and moderate rain protection with the possibility of modular construction, available in free-standing or wall-mounted versions. It is possible to obscure the side walls of the pergola system with ZiiiP or Slide type covers.
The most commonly chosen pergola models for detached houses are the Solid pergola and the SB 400 pergola. The former, has a textile cover, which can be folded under the system canopy with a remote control, exposing the sunny sky. The second, on the other hand, has an aluminum lamella roof, with which we regulate the flow of sunlight. Both variants come in a maximum size of 4×7 m and are designed to handle a moderate amount of precipitation.

Awnings
The last product group consists of awnings, which are functional terrace canopies. Awning covers, are made of acrylic or acrylic fabrics protected with a Teflon-based impregnant, which increases their resistance to dirt and raindrops. Awnings come in cassette or cassetteless versions. They give the option of mounting on wall, rafter or ceiling brackets. The awnings shade an area of up to 25 m².
