Parking like a park

Almost like a park, the Park and Ride parking lot on Połczyńska Street in Warsaw is to look like a park. Greenery will appear around the facility and on the roofs, along with educational paths and a retention basin.

All these works are to be carried out as part of the tender just announced by the Public Transport Authority for the reconstruction of the Połczyńska P+R parking lot. Most of the work will focus on making it more environmentally friendly. Part of the facility's concrete surface will be changed to one that allows water to pass through. A rainwater and snowmelt management system will be built. Excess rainwater will be collected in retention tanks, one of which will be open and kept recreational. The water collected in this way will be used, among other things, for watering plants.

More than a hectare of green, orderly space with new trees and shrubs will be created around the parking lot. Designers from Trektura studio have also designed a public garden with educational paths and benches. The canopies of the structures will also be green - the wooden structures over the parking spaces and the technical facilities building will be covered with plant carpets with photovoltaic panels.

retention tank

Solar energy will be stored in a planned industrial electricity storage facility, and lighting will be replaced with energy-efficient lighting. Those leaving electric cars will get ten new charging points. Additional points are also planned for single-track vehicles. The future contractor will reconstruct and renovate part of the parking lot's road system. The facility will be connected to the Parking Management Center, which will improve the control of installations and equipment, among other things.

canopies

The Authority is waiting for applications for the tender until mid-September. Time for the project is nine months from the date of signing the contract. For the next five years, the contractor will be responsible for the care and maintenance of greenery, maintenance of pavement and landscaping, and servicing of installations, systems and equipment.
