In the architectural clamor of stylish inconsistency of the surrounding buildings in Shalsza near Gliwice, the architectural studio projekt_DwA managed to achieve design independence.
The motto of the project was: "coexist without entering into dialogue." Fortunately for the architects and the future occupants of the house, there is an unusual object in its vicinity - a 19th centurypalace surrounded by a park. It overlooks vast fields and forests - hence the idea to turn to open space.
As the designers themselves say, the house resembles a child's drawing in its form. It has been trimmed of "superfluous" elements to paradoxically become more complete. Thus, the result was a simple building almost fully clad in aluminum sheeting, open to the rounded greenery. Wooden elements of the facade are located in the "cutouts" of the house. One of them allowed the creation of a covered terrace, which overlooks the horse farm, meadows and forest. From the outside, the windows may seem somewhat haphazardly arranged, but what is important is what residents can see through them from inside the house.
Family life takes place on the first floor in the kitchen-diningarea, which can also be viewed from the second floor through an interior window. The house is also not lacking in light, which is provided not only by the large terrace doors, but also by the roof window openings, which allow the householders to see the sky at all times.
