"Best Interior Design Diploma 2021/2023"
The apartment I chose to design is a two-level apartment in the Health apartment building in Łódź. Its living area is 101 square meters. The interior design was inspired by the works of three painters: Vincent van Gogh, Piet Mondrian and Vassily Kandinsky, as well as the paintings of young artist Andżelika Miszczuk, a fifth-year graphics student at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.

Each of the rooms has been designed in a style characteristic of one of the selected artists, so that while staying in a given space, one can feel his work. In turn, the bathroom, the toilet and the common area located on the mezzanine floor are places where inspiration mixes to show the similarities of the four artists.

The choice of white for the walls and floors is not accidental — the white base alludes to the primed canvas on which the painting is created. Thus, it can be considered that the entire interior becomes a large, collaborative painting. My goal was to show that paintings do not have to be associated with stretchers hung on the wall, but can be used in many different ways to create a non-obvious interior.

One of the design goals was to go beyond current trends and patterns in the implementation of residential interiors, arranging bright, gray interiors devoid of color. Most people, unfortunately, lose their sense of personal style, being inspired by catalog interiors and creating copies of them, instead of looking deep into their souls and creating an interior that describes themselves.

I wanted to show that you shouldn't be afraid of colors, because with them you can reflect your character. I chose painting because it is a perfect example of pouring emotions and character of a person onto canvas.

The project was primarily intended to show the collision of two fields of art: painting and interior design. Intense colors combined with furniture and other decorations create exceptional and unique juxtapositions. When designing this interior, it was also important for me to juxtapose the most famous painters with the paintings of young artist Andżelika Miszczuk.

Why did I choose this particular artist? I think she stands out from the others, her expressive paintings evoke positive emotions and blend perfectly with the works of the aforementioned artists.

In turn, I chose Łódź because it is associated with design. It is here that the International Art Center „Łódź Art Center” is located, and various artistic events are organized: the Łódź Biennale or Fotofestiwal, and since 2007 the Łódź Design Festival. Coming to this festival, for example, and using the accommodation in the apartment I suggested, we have the opportunity to interact with design and art around the clock.
