"Kengo Kuma Student Award".

26 of November '19

Great news for architecture students at the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Academy. Starting in 2020, the "Kengo Kuma Student Award" - an award for the most talented graduates of the Academy - will be launched.

"Kengo Kuma Student Award" is a program between the office of Kengo Kuma and Associates and the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts of the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow Academy and the Association for Architectural Education aimed at promoting the highest architectural educational standards, as well as developing cross-cultural cooperation between Poland and Japan.

In November 2019 in Tokyo, prof. nadzw. Krzysztof Ingarden, dean of the Krakow Academy and Honorary Consul of Japan in Krakow, signed a cooperation agreement with the KKAA office, represented by architect Marcin Sapeta.

As part of the annual award, the department's top graduate will be given the opportunity to complete a three- to six-month internship at the KKAA office in Tokyo. The winner will also be reimbursed for travel expenses to Japan, and the internship itself will be paid.
The award will be decided by a committee appointed by the dean of the faculty and the Association for Architectural Education, which has been operating in Krakow for a year.
