interdepartmental sculpture studio
The Sculpture Studio of Dr. Krzysztof Franaszek is running an interdepartmental program for the second year, where students from the Faculty of Interior Design and the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw meet. The open and interdepartmental nature of the studio fosters an inspiring exchange of ideas and allows the use of the rich technical resources of both units of the Academy. Work with students is based on partnership relations, and a joint exhibition is organized every year, functioning on the principles of a real contemporary art circuit.

program assumptions of the exhibition
According to the assumptions, the student group carried out projects around themes such as "thestudy of the multiplied figure," exploring the concept of the literary "everyman" and the role of the individual in the context of the crowd. The starting point was to consider the figure of the representative of the collective - a man, combining many characteristics of different individuals. The search for an appropriate concept and form revealed the need for personal statements about body perception, identity, distinctiveness and emotions associated with functioning in a group. The social context was further strengthened through collaborative creative work and a joint exhibition, where the participants, through their designs, create a non-verbal dialogue.

objects on display
The exhibition features sculptures, spatial installations, video works, animations and drawings. The intermedia nature of the exhibition, involving digital techniques, means that artistic interpretations are drawn from the virtual world, where a human substitute is generated, capable of being copied again and again. Contemporary digital clones and avatars have acquired a distinctive stylistic canon, relying on a simplified, organic silhouette that can be modified at will. This mass of human representations has inspired the art and design communities. The digital world is an ever-expanding network of human connections. The invisible structure, compared in one of the presented works to a mushroom, is becoming our everyday life, making it difficult to imagine notions of community, grouphood and the importance of the individual without considering digital reality.
