RE: PERFECT HOUSE. Modern house for a family of four

30 of September '21

TheRE: PERFECT HOUSE house located in Lodz's Polesie district is the latest development by Marcin Tomaszewski of the REFORM Architekt studio. The distinctive, zoned and zoned solid building was created for a family of four, valuing functionality, tranquility and modern solutions.

The house, built in Lodz in 2021, is located on a plot of land that is almost ideal, well located in relation to the world sides, the environment and the city. RE: PERFECT HOUSE was divided into two parts - a living area with a clear division into functions and a private bedroom area on the first floor. Each of the design stages was meticulously planned. Starting with the purchase of a plot of land, to the procedures related to obtaining development conditions, and ending with the creation of the project along with obtaining a building permit.

The plot has a perfect shape, dimensions, area, perfect location in relation to the world and in the city, perfect surroundings all around - in general, a perfect place was found to create a perfect house," explains architect Marcin Tomaszewski.

functions in separate blocks

The building was planned from the beginning in the northeastern part of the plot. The architect determined the outline for the house and began to reduce it to delineate the various functions of the building. From the beginning he wanted each functional zone of the first floor to be a separate block. These functions consist of the garage area, the entrance area, the study area, the living room area, the kitchen area and the communication area. As a result, it was able to achieve an irregular shape so that the most beautiful part of the plot and the surroundings could be seen from everywhere. The result of such "splashing" of the first floor functions is a dynamic body of the house with varying heights.

The upstairs of the building, on the other hand, is a completely different story - it has only one function, that of a bedroom. The architect opted for a continuation of the concept and made a single form out of this zone. The cuboid that hangs over the living zone strongly dominates the rest of the house, and calms down the dynamic and irregular form of the first floor.

The functional layout of this house was planned in an interlocking way - like cogs in an engine that must fit together perfectly. Due to their size, they interact with each other at different rates. The rooms in RE: PERFECT HOUSE are also designed this way - small and large, lower and higher. They are all connected and create harmony with each other," says the architect.

thoughtful layout

The investors knew from the beginning what kind of project they wanted - they described all the rooms, their function and location in the building. The house was designed for a family of four - a married couple with two children. Each concept had to be carefully thought out, due to the fact that the owners practically spend all day at home - here they work and live.

The main idea of the architect was the perfect layout of the rooms - it was on them that the investors focused most at the very beginning. Another element was to design the entrance so that it led to all areas of the house - the best choice turned out to be the classic central entrance.

The rooms intermingle - from the dressing room you can go directly to the kitchen or to the living room or study. The study, used for work, still has a separate entrance. From the living room you can enjoy the garden and the multifunctional terrace. The terrace has been divided into several zones - dining, lounge, barbecue and game areas, and even a pool and lounging area.

garage with two entrances

From the entrance you can go to the living area, to the study, to the technical area and to the first floor. For the large garage at the front of the house I also had to have a good idea. How do you make a large four-car garage that looks like a two-car garage? I made two entrances to it - one from the west and one from the east. This allowed me to push it from the entrance more into the body of the building and get both a lighter and smaller body that doesn't dominate the front. The canopies at the entrance were also very important, which I planned at different heights and in different positions," the author explains.

expressive facade

RE: PERFECT HOUSE is finished in three materials. White plaster marks the directions and distinguishes the main blocks in the building. Black allucobond board is the wall finish for those building elements that hide under the white. Meanwhile, nero marqina ceramic panels accent the elements that support and "pull" forward certain zones of the building. The house was highlighted with light illumination made of led strips, exposing the edges of the building - especially at night.
