Not only did the pandemic not stop responsible business activity, but it strengthened this commitment. We have seen many positive initiatives that make the role of companies in the fight against the pandemic unquestionable. These are presented in the Report "Responsible Business in Poland 2020: Good Practices," which already documents a comprehensive cross-section of business activity in the name of solidarity and empathy in an unprecedented situation. Also internal and external activities involving the transformation of organizations, changes in strategy, priorities, job creation, where direct relations were suddenly lacking. 2020 was a test of the speed of adaptation to new, extraordinary conditions in a situation of great uncertainty. Despite the new challenges, sustainability remained on the business agenda. This is not only assured by the companies themselves, but also confirmed by their many comprehensive practices, including a 19 percent increase in practices in the area of "environment." - says Marzena Strzelczak, President, CEO of the Responsible Business Forum. - The 19th edition of the report is another record-breaking publication in many respects. I would like to thank the authors of the expert articles included in the report. I would like to thank the companies that submit good practices for our annual publication and thanks to which such a comprehensive summary can be prepared by FOB. I invite you to read the report! - adds the president of the Responsible Business Forum.
Tubądzin Group was qualified in two areas of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility: In the Environment category - in terms of activities to control water consumption, and in the Social Involvement and Community Development area - in connection with activities undertaken to fight the pandemic and support hospitals and facilities in the Lodz, Lubuskie and West Pomeranian provinces.
The year 2020 was a time full of new challenges for us, both in terms of implementing the company's development projects and in the context of social responsibility and shaping sustainable attitudes. The Tubądzin Group, as the largest employer in the region, regularly engages in initiatives for the benefit of the local community. The past year has clearly contributed to intensifying these activities and undertaking a number of relief efforts in this pandemic situation, which is difficult for everyone. A very important area of Tubądzin's activities is also investment in the latest technologies and pro-environmental solutions. With environmental considerations in mind, we are striving to continuously improve the quality of production processes in this area," says Mirosław Jędrzejczyk, Tubądzin Group CEO.
The Tubądzin Group attaches great importance to caring for the environment. Tubądzin brand ceramic tile production is based on sustainable water management. Closed water circulation and its own water treatment plants at the CTIII factory in Sieradz make it possible to control water consumption. At the end of 2019, the company built an ecological water treatment plant, and 2020 was the company's first full year of operation with full use of the plant's capabilities.
Last year was also an intense time in terms of Tubądzin Ceramics' involvement in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. From the beginning of the pandemic, the Tubądzin Group and the Tubądzin Foundation actively participated in relief efforts, supporting facilities in the Lodz, Lubuskie and West Pomeranian Voivodeships, in terms of supplying their staff with sanitary equipment and materials necessary for work: masks, visors and 2 resuscitation and transport ventilators, along with the necessary oxygen cylinders. These materials supported the daily work of medical personnel in hospitals, firefighters during rescue operations, sanitation services, uniformed personnel and caregivers at a Nursing Home in Lodz Province.
