Dobrawa Bies: Who are the investors and what were their expectations?
MIDI Architects: The investors are young people who moved to Poland from the US. They gave up their corporate jobs in favor of space, air, contact with water, peace and quiet, and family. They expected a home where their family would feel comfortable. Spacious, private, personal, but also bright, open, simple, economical, new.

Dobrawa Bies: How did you take advantage of the building conditions? What is the result of the shape of the house?
MIDI Architects: The development conditions allowed a lot on this plot. Flat roofs, large widths, any colors. We decided to take advantage of this. For us, in addition to the principals' assumptions, the house had to be unique, unique, expressive, open, innovative. We decided on a strongly avant-garde form somewhat reminiscent of a hangar, gabled roof, barn, but in a different edition. After modeling, we found that it also resembled our logo. The exterior form reflects the functions. The house is divided into two parts. The first, closer to the road, is a hangar for cars and a general-purpose shed. It can accommodate five bicycles, a ping-pong table or a mitre saw underneath. The second in depth is a living hall divided successively into an entrance area, a living area with a kitchen and video room, and a sleeping area.

Dobrawa Bies: What is the structure of the house made of?
MIDI Architects: We decided on a steel structure and to use Kingspan x-deck load-bearing roof panels on the roof. They are lightweight, inexpensive, sturdy, and do not require a lot of attention to construction. The best roof in this case. The steel structure is the result of thought and analysis of the height of interior walls, the size of openings and spans. It gives the building character. We designed the house to be energy efficient. This was made possible by the positioning with respect to the sides of the world, the additional energy reflected from the water table and the material solutions adopted, including the sandwich panel on the roof.
Dobrawa Bies: What was your inspiration when designing the interiors?
MIDI Architects: The interior, its proportions, scale, openings and axes were inspired by the classic, magnificent Eames House. This can also be seen in the furniture used in the concept.
