How to create a space open for leisure and business meetings? How to refer to the local landscape? These questions faced designers from the Illiard studio when creating the common spaces of the Sopot hotel.

The Radisson Blu, located in the Tri-City area, commissioned Iliard Architecture & Interior Design studio to create the hotel's common spaces. The designers focused on referencing the seaside landscape, which is adjacent to the hotel's immediate surroundings.
Working on the interior design of the seaside property, the leitmotif actually comes to mind on its own. The sea is an abundant source of inspiration. The lightness and naturalness with which it allowed us to find interesting solutions and contexts for this realization made working on it a very pleasant creative process for our team," explains Wojciech Witek, founder of the Iliard Architecture & Interior Design studio, responsible for the design of the hotel's common areas.
open lobby
The hotel's lobby opens up to the forest landscape through wide glazing. The color scheme is limited to soft beiges and navy blues. What catches the eye in this space is an art installation realized over the heads of guests. These are sculptures made of openwork material depicting seagulls floating in the air.

restaurant
Internal divisions in the restaurant space were achieved by openwork walls, separating passageways from tables. Two things draw attention in this section in particular: the varied use of floor textures and colors, and the choice of lamps. The lighting of the restaurant area is composed of hanging lamps and geometric chandeliers.

Next to it, it was decided to plan a casual bar area, which is dominated by openwork wicker furniture, boho-style lamps with woven lampshades or green vegetation. Treated wood trunks serve as tables.

in search of the right character
The designers tried to find the right relationship between formal style and delicate freedom. The most important thing was to find, above all, a way to combine unusual materials with elegant finishes.
We looked for original details, structures, textures or patterns. In the selection of colors, as well as many elements of interior design, we were inspired by nature: sand, sea water, materials scorched by the sun, dried by the coastal wind. We delighted in imperfection: the carpets are rubbed, the top of the conference table resembles a discarded piece of wood, the vases and decorations look like they were pulled from a shipwreck," says Wojciech Witek.
in this realization, the attention is mainly drawn to the details
