Eclectic apartment from UGO Architecture

14 of April '20

Picturesque surroundings of spacious apartments located close to the city center. What else can a lover of big-city life who occasionally longs for contact with nature dream about? As it turns out - about many things. All desires were fulfilled by Hugon Kowalski, Klaudia Dopierała and Krzysztof Bronikowski!

It has not been known for a long time that {tag:Studio} have original ideas. Not long ago we wrote about the "blue pitch" - Here you are allowed to play ball (all players are welcome here). This time the designers created an original space with a great view of the world. The whole thing was neatly captured by PION Studio.

The Poznan apartment is more than 95 square meters - it consists of a living room with kitchen, dining room and toilet on the first floor and a private part located on the mezzanine. It is formed by a bedroom, a dressing room and an open bathroom with a bathtub. This division of space clearly separates the living area from the personal area. No unwanted feet will climb the winding staircase - the black steps will effectively intimidate such an "intruder".

Creative eclecticism

The two-part staircase is worth mentioning more, as it not only serves its obvious function, but also makes excellent shelves for books, vinyl records and sculptures. The designers took the liberty of playing with art by a capital SZ. Original combinations, like the work of a goblin who mischievously juxtaposed elements and painted this and that (a hat with a pom-pom!) on the characters of the portraits, enliven the space. But they are not the only ones - the steadiness of white and black is interrupted by a sculpture of a red head or a sizeable Smeg refrigerator in mint color.

This creative eclecticism is emphasized by the solutions on the mezzanine floor - unpolished concrete, in which pebbles can be seen in the over-crushed part, a storied bathroom, or a system of hidden green cabinets.

Above all, the architects were keen not to interfere with the view of the forest, stretching behind the apartment's sizeable glazing. Many of the applications are non-standard. The main material that made it possible to implement them is steel. Thus, the kitchen built-ins, the plate racks, the two flights of stairs, and the bathroom floor, which is accessed by a ladder, are all steel.

The exposed concrete of the mezzanine contrasts with the oak planks - this combination sums up well the style of the apartment, where what is classic meets what is modern.
