Architects from the LAX studio have prepared a concept for the development of the area around the pond on Sportowa Street in Wisznia Mała, near Wroclaw. Introducing wooden structures with gentle, curved shapes, they designed a space that has a chance to become an attractive meeting and recreation place for residents.
As the authors of the project emphasize, the area around the pond has great potential to become a public space of representative character for the local and supra-local community, while retaining its natural qualities and intimate character.

The basis of the project is the platform surrounding the reservoir - a wooden promenade - which will allow the public to contact the water from different locations. This loop, in addition to walking, will also allow residents to walk to the viewing platform, rest on a bench running along the water's edge, play on swings or relax on hammocks. In turn, the centerpiece of the project is an artificial floating island with a cherry tree, which can be approached, moored by boat and walked out onto its shore.
The project also includes the introduction of three recreational zones - a sandy beach in the southern part, a recreational and sportsarea with a volleyball court and a playground, as well as two buildings - a year-round and a summer building.

Along the western edge of the shore, the architects planned a fishing section, where the pier was gently raised and set back from the water's edge into the escarpment so that pedestrian traffic would travel a bit further. What's more, the fishing piers will be located right at the water's surface, allowing anglers to rest and providing the needed peace and quiet.
The year-round building will fit in with the existing landscape, taking advantage of the difference in terrain and the steep slope of the slope toward the water. The first floor accessible from the entrance plaza will house a café with a terrace. On the other hand, in the lower part (at level -1), the architects have planned a Finnish sauna, from which it will be possible to go to a separate part of the platform and cool down the body after warm-up sessions.

On the other hand, the architecture of the single-story summer building was shaped from the element of an enclosed building and an overhanging roof above the terrace of the cafe, where it will be possible to display tables in the summer. The seasonal building will also house a changing room, equipment rental and restrooms.
