Design is currently a fashionable major, but few universities have it in their educational offerings. The Sopot Academy of Applied Sciences has received permission from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to conduct it. At SSW, it is already the fourth elective course in the Faculty of Architecture Engineering and Art.
At Sopot School of Higher Education you can now study all design majors: Design, Architecture, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture.
What is design?
Design is a course of practical profile, which is a combination of industrial design and applied art. It is mainly aimed at creative and imaginative people with an artistic and artistic sense. The attractiveness of this direction is due not only to the fact that it allows the student to express his own visions in design, but also due to the growing demand for specialists in this field. The direction of Design was included in the list of the Minister of Science and Higher Education as one of the fifteen key fields of study important for the development of the Polish economy.
First degree studies
Design at the Sopot Academy of Applied Sciences has an interdisciplinary character, being an integral part of architecture and significantly influencing its expression. The direction corresponds programmatically to the need to prepare the graduate for the art of designing modern functional forms and accompanying spaces in four complementary scopes:
- product,
- furniture,
- packaging,
- mobility.
Graduate of the bachelor's degree program, will be prepared to continue their studies in the second degree program and to undertake professional activities in design offices, exhibition studios, advertising agencies, prototype shops, manufacturing studios, among others.
