Once again, Cemex Poland has been recognized for its activities in the area of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, receiving a Silver CSR Leaf and a distinction for good practices supporting the implementation of the 2022 Sustainable Development Goals. The awards were given during POLITYKA's CSR Leaf Gala on June 13.
The compilation of CSR Letters is prepared by Polityka weekly, together with Deloitte and the Responsible Business Forum. In this year's edition of the competition, the organizers received 127 applications, of which 104 companies were awarded distinctions. It was to them that the Gold, Silver, White and, for the first time given out that year, Green CSR Leaves were awarded, which were given to companies working to reduce their negative impact on the environment.
Companies that received awards were evaluated using a special questionnaire, developed based on the guidelines of the ISO 26000 standard. Candidates for CSR Letters answered questions related to environmental protection activities, social responsibility and corporate governance. Not insignificant were the initiatives taken by the companies for the benefit of the victims of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
This year, Cemex Poland received the CSR Silver Leaf, which confirms the company's recognition for implementing high-quality sustainability solutions and disclosing information related to ESG activities. The company was also recognized for its good practice in support of the Sustainable Development Goals "Vertua - low carbon cements, lowering carbon footprint". This is an acknowledgement of Cemex's efforts as part of the global "Future in Action" strategy for climate protection.Sustainability is a key pillar of our strategy, and as a global building materials company, Cemex plays an important role in combating climate change. Another consecutive award of Cemex Poland with the CSR Letter confirms that corporate social responsibility and sustainable development are a priority for the company, which constantly responds to challenges in the social and environmental areas. This was specified in the latest Sustainability Report, which received an honorable mention in the 16th list of the best reports in the competition between the Responsible Business Forum and Deloitte. The report was recognized for its appropriate balance of environmental issues in the industry, detailed information on actions taken and goals, and adequate presentation of data.
