Less is more - or how to store in the bedroom
Furnishings in the bedroom should be rather sparing so as not to distract us. In addition to the bed and bedside tables, the most critical piece of furniture is a closet or chest of drawers for storage. Increasingly, however, instead of them, a ground-to-ceiling built-in is used, which builds a single, coherent plane, sometimes rhythmized, for example, through the use of interesting fronts (such as shutters). It is convenient, functional and comprehensively solves the problem. In an ideal scenario, when you have enough freedom in space management, you may be tempted to separate a separate dressing room from the bedroom.
Spectacle of light
99% of my clients ask me to design a central light in the bedroom , says interior designer Konrad Sojka of Sojka&Wojciechowski studio. - I laugh that afterwards most of them turn it on primarily when cleaning. I definitely prefer more scenic and atmospheric lighting instead of general, central lighting. I don't mind a grandiose, design-interesting form in a high interior or attic, but even then I recommend lamps that give soft, diffused light. In classic interiors I suggest installing rather spotlights on the ceiling on a single strip. We can then play with the angle of their placement and thus bring out certain elements of the interior from the shadows, and hide others in it.
The architect's prescription seems very useful. We often transfer patterns from other rooms to the bedroom, even though we should use light in the bedroom in a slightly more theatrical way.
We use sconces or standing lamps much more often in the bedroom, and to them we pay far more attention. We subtly sculpt the space with LEDsinstalled behind the mirror, curtain rod, at the pedestals or inside the closet. After all, the bedroom is all about mood ," adds the architect. - Remember that we should make certain decisions at the stage of electrical planning. Bring enough wires to the right places, to the right height. Unless we decide on a loft variant and run the cables along the wall, " the architect advises.

We can also consider some clever patents - such as a stair switch, which allows a person lying in bed to turn off the overhead light. An alternative, interesting solution is also to build lighting controls into the bed frame. As Bartlomiej Switkowski points out:
At the customer's request, we are able to place the lighting control sensor anywhere in the bed base or headboard. It can also be voice control via the built-in Alexa module, Amazon's voice assistant. The possibilities are many.
And if we want to level the amount of light in the bedroom to zero, the ideal solution would be to purchase curtains or blinds equipped with a sun-blocklayer to ensure total darkness.
