The topic of architectural accessibility often boils down only to meeting the relevant design regulations. As long as we do not experience the hardship of overcoming barriers ourselves, we do not think about how big a problem they can be for the elderly, people in wheelchairs or parents with small children. How to remedy the exclusion of these people from public space? The answer to this question will be sought by the speakers of the webinar on adapting city space to the needs of people with disabilities - Professor Ewa Kurylowicz and TUS Foundation President Piotr Todys.
NOTE: The date of the lecture will change!
In the aging society we live in, can we continue to overlook the topic of accessibility? Do we realize how many people are excluded every day due to the lack of accessibility of public spaces? - ask the event's organizers.
Anyone who is interested in accessible design, eliminating architectural barriers and counteracting the exclusion of people with disabilities so that they can move around in public space without hindrances is invited to the webinar, which will begin on October 19 at 7 p.m. Professor Ewa Kurylowicz, author of the book "Universal Design. Making Environments Accessible to the Disabled," who has been dealing with the subject of adapting space to the needs of the disabled for years, and Piotr Todys, president of the TUS Foundation. The pretext for the meeting is the project to make one of the Finnish houses in Warsaw's Jazdów accessible, prepared by two architects - Anna Franczyk and Sonia Kwiatkowska.
