Architects from IP Design proved that on 43 square meters you can create a functional and cozy interior that accommodates multiple zones and still remain spacious! Here is the realization of a turnkey apartment project for a couple in Pruszcz Gdański, where greenery, wood and simplicity dominate.
Functionality and universal minimalism
The owners of a 43-square-meter apartment in Pruszcz Gdański, specifically a couple working remotely, needed a space arranged pragmatically, necessarily with two workstations. The interior also had to be easy to maintain, and in terms of aesthetics - inspired by universal minimalism - so that it could be easily rented in the future.
Ilona Paleńczuk and Patrycja Sobańska-Andryszak of IP Design designed the space, which consists of a living room combined with a kitchenette and a remote working angle, a bedroom with a separate work mini-zone, a long hallway and a bathroom. The designers clearly succeeded in meeting the expectations of the investors. There are many reasons to claim so!

Let's start with practical issues, or more precisely: the functional aspects of the apartment. The designers made sure that it did not run out of storage space. Valuable space has not been wasted, and at the same time it has not been completely built up. Closets and cabinets are designed practically at the full height of the walls, optically enlarging the space. Such a solution also helps to keep the apartment clean, because dust does not accumulate on the upper part of the furniture.

The architects also separated a place for a well-organized closet, which is part of the bedroom.

ergonomic and imaginative workspaces
Remote work stations are important elements of the interior. The one located in the living room is adapted for both sitting and standing work: there is a desk with adjustable height and a special stool. The other, in the bedroom, on the other hand, is designed so that it can be converted into a crib for a child in the future. The width of the alcove with the desk is the standard size of cribs, while the desk itself is easily removable. The design of both stands is thoughtful and imaginative, making them both functional and charming.

Green walls, wood and plants - a source of calm
Admittedly, the whole apartment is set in a minimalist style, but the designers managed to avoid the effect of austerity. The interior remains cozy and warm. It is conducive to relaxation and tranquility. This is due, among other things, to the green of the walls, wood and floral decorations.
The owners are very fond of being out in nature. So we decided to make nature a leitmotif in the aesthetics of the interior," explains Ilona Palenchuk.

The color of green on the walls was meticulously chosen and matched to the decorative elements of the interior - interestingly, after testing samples of three shades! Above the remote work station in the living room hangs a vivid flower, above the sofa a mountain landscape, while in the bedroom a compilation of floral graphics by architect Ilona Palenchuk.
The main motif of green was to be both a contrast and complement to the graphics, painting and plants on the walls. The intensity of the color was to be characterful, but not tiring," the architect adds.

The colors of the rest of the walls, in turn, were matched to the upper part of the kitchen, and the shade of the wooden floor to the color of the lower kitchen cabinets. The architects stress that there is no room for mistakes in the design of a minimalist interior! Consistency is important. The interior, although small, was optically enlarged by large-format mirrors, which are hosted in the lobby and bedroom.
It is worth noting that the IP Design studio not only prepared the project. It was also the so-called substitute investor in cooperation with the contractor. The implementation of the interior took three months.
We watched over the investment from start to finish. The investors are satisfied that from a square meter of 43m2 we managed to create a comfortable place for two to live," says Ilona Paleńczuk.
