We open the virtual champagne and sing a hundred years! On the occasion of the round birthday of Robert Konieczny, architect from KWK Promes, we remind you of five projects of the studio.
With best wishes, editors of A&B
Safe House
The house, which is designed to provide residents with a maximum sense of security, is equipped with shutters that mimic the material and thickness of the walls. Once they are closed, the block turns into a minimalist monolith.

Breakthroughs Dialogue Center
The Breakthroughs Dialogue Center, a branch of the National Museum in Szczecin, showcases the city's recent history. You can read more about this realization here.

Konieczny's Ark
The architect's own house. The concrete, one-story block is open to a picturesque mountain landscape. The house is covered with a traditional gabled roof, and its lower part, which is intended to give the building rigidity, resembles an inverted roof.

House on the Road
The motif of the project was the road, which, like a ribbon, leads first to the house, then from the level of the second floor to the garden and below, to the beach. The road also forms the ceilings, roof and walls of the building.

UNIKATO
A multi-family building located in downtown Katowice is characterized by an unusual composition of protruding balconies. You can read more about UNIKATO, which houses the KWK Promes studio, in Maciej Kapolka's conversation with Robert Konieczny in the June issue of A&B.
