zoned urban layout
Theurban layout of the KoMo estate was obtained by the student, after imposing a modular design grid on the design plot, separating private zones - gardens, semi-private zones - pedestrian transportation, access to houses, a public zone with parking lots, a house and the area of the show house. He began the design of the house by laying out a rectangular plan form on a modular 120×120 cm grid. The author then adopted two traffic axes, which were to become the base of the simple layout. In order to ensure adequate sunlight in the interior of the houses, he cut out a section of the projection according to the above scheme, thus obtaining a southwestern exposure of the rooms. Thanks to the zoning of the space, the entrance area with technical facilities, the common (living) area and the individual (night) area were distinguished.

simple body
The simplicity of the plan also translates into the simplicity of the solid. The flat roofs used in the form of green terraces are intended partly for recreation with vantage points to the Wawel Castle and the landscape park, and partly for technical terraces for photovoltaic panels. The elevation of the basic house - the first floor is clad in white clay plaster. The first floor, on the other hand, is made of demolition brick tile and painted white with VOC-free paint. The receding entrance area is left to be finished by the future resident, which will allow individual houses to be individualized.

natural solutions
The buildings use natural ventilation for most of the year. All rooms have tilt window elements. For periods of extremes (hot summer and cold winter), mechanical supply/exhaust ventilation with heat/cooling recovery has been used. The recuperation unit is located in the technical room. Domestic hot water is provided by a heat pump. Rainwater is collected in an underground tank and used for watering plants. Gray water is reused for flushing toilets. The main source is electricity, produced by photovoltaic panels.

The newly created estate is intended to be educational and promote energy-active solutions. The creation of pedestrian-only walk ways in the interior will provide a sense of security and become a green extension of the scenic park's hiking trails.
